Waste Collection Permit Holder Training Programme


This one day programme is aimed at waste managers who are responsible for the day to day operation of their waste collection permit. The course gives an understanding of the legislation and the requirements of the National Waste Collection Permit office. The course will also deal with the application, review and renewal process. Record keeping, use of EWC codes and the production of the Annual Environmental Report will be dealt with in detail during the training. The course will also cover associated topics such as hazardous waste movement, transfrontier shipment of waste and an overview of waste facility authorisation. We will also deal with the concepts of End of Waste and By Products. Delegates will receive a comprehensive reference manual and copies of the relevant Irish Regulations.

Tutor:
Course will be delivered by Andrew Moag Director of ETS who has 30 years experience in the waste industry. Andrew provides private sector industry and waste regulatory training for local authority, EPA and compliance scheme staff.
Andrew Moag

Andrew has been working in environmental management since 1990 and is a recognised international expert in waste and water management. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Waste Management FCIWM.  He has been training environmental professionals since 1998 and has delivered much of the waste management legislation training for regulators, companies and individuals during EPA and FAS programmes throughout this time. Andrew is owner and director of both AMC Environmental Ltd, a waste and environmental consultancy and ETS.  His expertise is broad based and he continues to work on projects as diverse as site investigation, end of waste and regulatory applications and policy and legislation development. Andrew has developed a detailed understanding of environmental legislation and regulations across both Ireland and the UK.  He delivers training for industry and regulators and acts as an expertise witness in district and high court cases.

We are running regular events every 4 weeks for waste collection permit holders in a range of locations including Tullamore  The NWCPO require the permit holder to demonstrate technical knowledge of the activity and complete appropriate training. The Waste Collection Permit Holder Training Programme has been developed by ETS in close collaboration with the NWCPO to meet the training and certification needs of Waste Collectors. It identifies key responsibilities arising from the Waste Management Acts and associated regulations and compliance with Permit conditions.  It will help you understand the other aspects of waste movement such as hazardous waste movement, export of waste and the basics of waste licenced and waste facility permitted sites.   We explain the basis of EWC codes for reporting and step by step go through standard permit conditions so you understand the obligations on your company.    An uptodate detailed set of notes is provided for each delegate.  Our course is excellent value and includes the training manual, certification, refreshments and a full 2 course lunch.
